Nothing to nothing, first quarter, second and 23 at the Miami 38 against the Dolphins. Kyler Murray threw short middle to Jauan Jennings for eight yards to the 30, −0.1 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. The drive ended in a 47-yard field goal. That was the line: one target, one catch, eight yards, one of 33 throws with a receiver while T.J. Hockenson had 13. In the third quarter an offensive pass interference call on him wiped out a play at the Miami 22.
Back in June the preview leaned toward Jennings, with his September share against a 19.4-percent baseline as the watch, and the targets going elsewhere as the way it fails. Three games: four targets, two catches, nine yards. The targets have gone elsewhere.
