Kenneth Gainwell had his best game of the season against the Panthers: 14 carries for 88 yards, worth +3.5 expected points added (EPA), in Tampa Bay's 43-13 win at Carolina on Sunday. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Seven of his 14 carries (50%) gained positive EPA, he was not targeted, and he returned a kickoff 30 yards.

His longest run came right after that return. Up 19-6 in the second quarter, on first and 15 at the Carolina 42, he went off right tackle for 29 yards to the 13, +2.34 EPA, and Bucky Irving scored four plays later to make it 26-6. He opened the fourth quarter up 36-6 by carrying five times for 39 yards from the Tampa Bay 15, the last 5 on third and 4 to the Carolina 46. Sean Tucker ran the next snap in for a 46-yard touchdown.

It was a different workload from anything before it. Through Week 6 he had 19 carries for 61 yards at -0.16 EPA a carry, 32% positive, and 12 catches on 17 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown. Here he ran for +0.25 a carry, and his 88 yards beat his previous single-game high of 18.
