Tennessee's 21 designed runs went 17 to Tony Pollard, 3 to Tyjae Spears and 1 to Cam Ward, in a week Robert Saleh had said Singleton would get more carries, per CBS Sports, in a 12–7 loss to the Giants.

Nicholas Singleton's name does not appear in the play-by-play of Sunday's game. He was not among the six Titans listed inactive on the game-day report published on the Giants' team site — Jackie Marshall, Kylen Granson, Atonio Mafi, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, Jaylon Jones and Michael Carter — and he was not handed the ball, not thrown to, and not credited with a return, a tackle or a penalty. The week had pointed the other way. Robert Saleh said the Titans would give Singleton more carries against the Giants, per CBS Sports, which also listed Tyjae Spears as questionable with an ankle injury. Spears played.
What the backfield did is the football here. 21 designed runs: Tony Pollard 17 for 74 yards, Spears three for five, Cam Ward one for two. 17 of the 20 running back carries were Pollard's, his largest share of the season, and his 74 yards were the most by any runner in the game. Every Titans kick return went to Chimere Dike.
Back in June the preview would not project Singleton — a fifth-round pick coming off foot surgery, behind two backs his head coach had called bell cows — and said to watch special teams first, and any week Pollard's touch count dipped, because that was the door. Week 1 he was inactive, per the Titans' game-day report. Week 2 he carried four times for 10 yards, all on one third-quarter drive. Sunday Pollard's carries went up again, to 17, and the returns stayed with Dike. Neither door opened. Tennessee is at the Ravens on Sunday the fourth.
