Samaje Perine scored the touchdown that put Cincinnati up two scores against the Ravens: 4 carries, 16 yards, a 1-yard touchdown and -0.5 expected points added (EPA) in a 35-13 win at Baltimore. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Up 14-13 early in the fourth quarter, one snap after Tee Higgins's 44-yard catch, he ran left tackle for 15 yards to the Baltimore 8, +0.9 EPA. A pass-interference penalty moved the ball to the 1, and he went up the middle for the score and a 21-13 lead after the extra point. In the third he converted third and 1 at the Baltimore 15 with a 2-yard run, on the drive Higgins finished. One carry dragged the total under zero: third and 1 on the opening drive, a loss of 2, -2.5 EPA, and a punt.
It was his first rushing touchdown this season. Through Week 5 he had 27 carries for 110 yards and -1.7 EPA, and 7 catches on 10 targets for 61 yards and a touchdown.
