Aaron Jones had a short, costly day against the Colts: 8 carries for 26 yards and -6.34 expected points added (EPA), what a play is worth given down, distance and field position, +1 catch for no gain, in Minnesota's 16-10 win at home. He was hurt on his 17-yard run in the fourth quarter and did not carry again.
Most of the cost came on the opening drive. Starting at the Indianapolis 47, he was stopped for no gain on third and 1 at the 38, then dropped for a 1-yard loss on fourth and 1: -3.92 EPA and 8.7 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. His one catch, at the Indianapolis 11 late in the first quarter, ended in a fumble that went out of bounds.
Through Week 5 he had run 97 times for 410 yards and 2 touchdowns, at -0.14 EPA per carry; here it was -0.79.
