Carnell Tate made the catch that set up the tying score against the Browns and lost the ball once: 7 targets, 5 catches, 69 yards and +2.1 expected points added (EPA) on his targets, the fumble included. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The big one came down 24-17 with 1:13 left. Third and 12 at the Cleveland 19: Cam Ward threw deep left and Tate was pushed out at the 1, 18 yards, +3.2 EPA and 16.1 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. Tony Pollard scored two snaps later.

The costly one came down 17-14 in the third. Third and 10 at the Tennessee 25, he caught a short pass on the left and gained 13, enough for the first down, but Tyson Campbell knocked it loose and Ronnie Hickman Jr. recovered at the 41: -3.3 EPA. His 15-yard catch on second and 12 set up Pollard's 36-yard touchdown on the opening drive, and he added 17 on second and 9 late in the first quarter. Both of Ward's throws to him on the drive before halftime fell incomplete, and Tennessee punted.

Per target it ran ahead of his season. Through Week 6 he had 44 targets, 29 catches, 344 yards, 1 touchdown and +8.0 EPA, +0.18 a target; here it was +0.29.
