Deshaun Watson threw for his most yards of the season against the Titans and finished the game with the ball in his hands: 25 of 36 for 308 yards, no touchdowns and an interception, sacked once, plus 3 runs for 19 yards and a touchdown, in a 27-24 win on the road. Over 38 dropbacks, the sack and a scramble included, he was worth +2.8 expected points added (EPA), +0.07 a dropback. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Completion percentage over expected (CPOE), which compares completions with what each throw's difficulty predicts, was +6.9.

The last drive started at his own 31, tied 24-24 with 53 seconds left. He hit Denzel Boston for 6 and Dylan Sampson for 8, and after a timeout, first and 10 at the Cleveland 45 with 28 seconds left, threw short left to Harold Fannin Jr., who carried it 36 yards to the Tennessee 19: +23.2 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win, the largest swing of any play from scrimmage in the game. Andre Szmyt kicked the 32-yarder with 3 seconds left.

The touchdown came on his feet. Tied 17-17 with 4:39 left, first and goal at the Tennessee 9, he ran around left end and scored, +2.0 EPA and 12.2 points of win probability. The throw that cost him came on the second drive, down 7-0: second and 12 at his own 34, a short pass on the left for Boston that Cordale Flott intercepted and returned to the Cleveland 24, -5.3 EPA. Tennessee scored on the fourth play after it.

It beat his season on both counts. Through Week 6 he had +1.9 EPA on 220 dropbacks, +0.01 a dropback, and a CPOE of -2.2. His previous high was 268 yards, in Week 4.
