Isaiah Likely smashed the Commanders: 13 targets, 11 catches, 94 yards, 2 touchdowns, and +10.4 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The defining catch nearly went the other way. Down 27-13 with 7:24 left, fourth and 8 at the Washington 17, Jameis Winston threw short over the middle. Likely was ruled down at the 1 with a fumble that Rasul Douglas recovered in the end zone for a touchback; replay reversed it to a 17-yard touchdown. It was worth +4.5 EPA and +6.9 points of win probability, and it started the Giants back from 14 down.

His first touchdown came at the end of the third quarter, down 19-6: third and 3 at the Washington 3, a short throw to the right for the score, +2.3 EPA. In the first quarter he converted third and 13 with a 15-yard catch, +2.9 EPA.

This was his best game of the season by a distance. Weeks 1 through 4 brought 22 catches on 35 targets for 190 yards, 2 touchdowns and +5.7 EPA; his +10.4 this week was more than those four games combined. Both earlier touchdowns came in Week 1 against the Cowboys.
