Meyers caught 7 of 8 targets for 64 yards and a 10-yard touchdown on second and ten late in the second quarter, with five first downs and both third-down targets converted. His eight targets led Jacksonville, and seven catches are his most in a game since the Jaguars traded for him last November, in a 35–6 win over the Patriots.

Seven to three, Jaguars, four 28 left in the first half, second and 10 at the New England 10. Trevor Lawrence threw short middle to Jakobi Meyers for the touchdown. +2.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 4.4 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. With the kick it was 14 to three, at the end of the drive Bhayshul Tuten had carried into New England territory.
The line: eight targets, seven catches, 64 yards, one touchdown, five first downs, +8.3 expected points on the targets, the highest figure for any receiver in the game; Mack Hollins's +5.0 for New England was next. The catches went five, 10, 10, −1, 14, 13, 13. The second 10 came on the drive before the half, second and 10 at the Jacksonville 31 with 46 seconds left, a snap after his one incompletion; that drive ended in a 70-yard field goal try that missed wide right. Then the long third-quarter drive: −1 on second and eight at the New England 30, 14 on third and nine to the 17, and, after a sack, 13 on third and 11 to the five, with a face-mask penalty on Carlton Davis moving the ball to the two. Parker Washington caught the touchdown at the end of that drive. The last catch was 13 on second and seven at the New England 35 with 11 oh four left in the game, up 22, pushed out at the 22. Four targets in each half, both third-down targets caught and converted. He also shares credit for the tackle on Marcus Jones's interception return in the second quarter.
The split: eight of the 27 Jaguars throws that had a receiver, the team lead, ahead of five apiece for Washington and Brenton Strange. Seven catches is the most he has had in a game as a Jaguar, counting last season's nine regular-season games and one playoff game after the trade.
Back in June the preview made no call on Meyers: five straight seasons of steady production, a friendly floor, and a crowded Jacksonville room capping it, with a September target share under 15 percent as the sign the room had won. Week 1 was two targets, both caught, 40 yards and a touchdown. Week 2 was one target, a 28-yard catch on third and eight. Sunday was eight targets, 30 percent of the throws with a receiver. Three games, 11 targets, 10 catches, a hundred 32 yards, two touchdowns. One game at the top of the target list does not make a role after two at the bottom of it, but it is the first week that looked like the December contract. Jacksonville is at the Bengals on Sunday the fourth.
