Justin Jefferson scored against the Lions but found little room: 9 targets, 5 catches, 33 yards, a touchdown and -0.6 expected points added (EPA). EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. His longest catch went 9 yards.

The touchdown came on the first snap after Aaron Jones's 15-yard catch to the Detroit 1, down 3-0 to open the second quarter: first and goal at the 1, Kyler Murray threw short left, +0.5 EPA, and the extra point made it 7-3. The misses came on the drives after. On third and 8 at the Detroit 48 in the second quarter, a short throw for him fell incomplete, -1.7 EPA and 4.2 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win, and Minnesota punted; a third-and-17 throw also fell incomplete. Two deep throws for him in the first quarter, one at the Detroit 16, missed.

His season had been far richer. Through Week 7 he had 31 targets, 23 catches, 302 yards, 3 touchdowns and +22.3 EPA in five games.
