Mitchell carried five times for 24 yards, including an 11-yard run to the Raiders 11 that set up Omarion Hampton's touchdown, and caught one pass for 15 yards. He also returned two kickoffs and recovered an aborted snap at the Raiders 10. Hampton carried 23 times, in a 26–14 loss to the Raiders.

Seven to nothing, Raiders, six 57 left in the second quarter, first and 10 at the Las Vegas 22. Keaton Mitchell took it around left end and was pushed out at the 11, 11 yards and a first down. +0.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Omarion Hampton went 10 yards on the next snap and one yard on the snap after that, and the game was tied.
The line: five carries, 24 yards, one first down, one of the five successful, −0.8 expected points on the carries; one target, one catch, 15 yards, +1.2. The carries went three, five, four, 11 one. Four came before halftime for 23 yards. The fifth was one yard on second and two with three-oh-nine left in the third quarter, and the third and one that followed was an aborted snap and a punt. The catch was 15 yards short left on first and 20 from the Chargers 10 with 10 22 left in the fourth, down three. Away from the offense's box score, he returned the opening kickoff 28 yards to the 32 and a second one 19 yards, and he recovered Justin Herbert's aborted snap at the Las Vegas 10, one play before Oronde Gadsden's touchdown.
The split: Hampton 23 designed runs, Mitchell five, Quentin Johnston one. Kimani Vidal did not carry. Week 1 was 10 designed runs before halftime split six and four, then six after, all Hampton's. Sunday was 19 before halftime split 15 four, then 12 after with one for Mitchell.
Back in June the preview called Mitchell a watchlist — the 40-sixth running back at pick one 46, priced at roughly double his output from a season in Baltimore's rotation, on the strength of a coordinator's stated wish list and five million guaranteed, with eight touches a game named as the line between gadget and weapon. Week 1 was four touches, all before halftime. Sunday was six. He has nine carries in two weeks, and exactly one of them came after halftime. The shape is the same both weeks: a change of pace early, and Hampton's game late. Six is closer to eight than four was. The Chargers are at the Bills on Sunday the 20-seventh.
