13 to three, Seahawks, a minute 29 left in the first half, second and eight at the Chargers' 28, no huddle. Justin Herbert threw short right for Ladd McConkey, and Jones intercepted at the Chargers' 40 and returned it 20 yards to the 20. −4.8 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −6.9 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Two snaps later Seattle led 20 to three.

The line: two targets, no catches, −6.2 expected points on the targets, the lowest of any Charger. The other was third and 12 at the Seattle 45 in the first quarter, short middle, incomplete, and a punt. It was the first game this season he did not catch a pass.

Back in June the preview named the things to watch: health first, then a target share north of 20 percent. Sunday was two of 32 throws. Through four games it is 17 of the Chargers' hundred 20, about 14 percent, 12 catches and a hundred 83 yards, and the share has moved away from the line.
