Mike Evans made three catches count against the Commanders: 94 yards and +5.7 expected points added (EPA) on 5 targets, all before halftime. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The big one came up 7-3 with 8:43 left in the first quarter. First and 10 at the San Francisco 28, Brock Purdy went deep right and Evans was pushed out at the Washington 18 after 54 yards: +3.5 EPA and +8.4 points of win probability. Christian McCaffrey scored on that drive. On the offense's third snap of the night, third and 4 at the San Francisco 42, Evans caught a 24-yarder over the deep middle to the Washington 34, +2.4 EPA and +9.2 points of win probability, and George Kittle caught the touchdown on that drive.
His last catch came up 13-3 with 1:10 left in the half: second and 15 at the Washington 28, 16 yards over the middle to the 12, +1.8 EPA. He was injured on the play and was not targeted again. Two deep throws to him late in the first quarter fell incomplete, -1.9 EPA together.
His 94 yards were his second-most this season, after 113 in Week 5. Through Week 5 he had 34 targets, 24 catches, 326 yards, 4 touchdowns and +34.2 EPA.
