Travis Hunter had his biggest day of the season against the Texans, on both sides of the ball: 4 catches on 4 targets, 59 yards, a touchdown and +6.7 expected points added (EPA) on offense, plus the interception that kept Jacksonville alive. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The interception was the swing of the game. Houston led 31-28 with 3:59 left, second and 4 at the Jacksonville 4. C.J. Stroud threw short right for Xavier Hutchinson and Hunter picked it off in the end zone for a touchback: -6.0 EPA and -24.1 points of win probability for Houston, the largest swing of the night. Jacksonville drove from there to tie the game at 31.
On offense every catch counted. With 1:10 left in the first half, down 10-7, he caught a 19-yarder deep left to the Houston 4, +2.1 EPA, and Bhayshul Tuten scored two snaps later. With 6 seconds left in the third quarter, down 31-21, he took a short pass over the middle 26 yards to the Houston 30, +2.0 EPA. Early in the fourth he caught a 7-yarder to the 12, then a 7-yard touchdown on second and 7 that made it 31-28.
It was a different role from his start. Through Week 5 he had 2 catches on 2 targets for 17 yards and +1.5 EPA, in Weeks 1 and 5.
