The full read
Trey McBride caught nearly everything thrown his way against the Lions: 10 targets, 9 catches, 66 yards, 1 touchdown, +7.4 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The catch that mattered most came with Arizona down 31-7 late in the third quarter. Third and 2 at the Detroit 17, 4:58 left: Jacoby Brissett threw short left and McBride was pushed out at the 13 for a first down. On the next snap Teagan Quitoriano caught a 13-yard touchdown. His own score came on fourth and 9 at the Detroit 9 with 2:17 left, down 45-14, a short throw to the right that made the final 45-21 but moved nothing. All but one of his catches came after halftime.
His +7.4 EPA nearly matched the +9.0 he had on 46 targets across Weeks 1 through 4, when he caught 33 passes for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns. 10 targets were 21% of Brissett's 47 attempts, in line with his 13, 10, 11 and 12 in the first four weeks.
