Seven to nothing, Ravens, eight 50 left in the first quarter, first and 10 at the Baltimore 18. Tyjae Spears went around left end for eight yards and was pushed out at the 10. Plus point four expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and three points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Four snaps later Tony Pollard scored to tie it.
The rest: a one-yard loss at right guard late in the half, and one catch, a yard behind the line on third and 10 in the first quarter, and a punt. When Carnell Tate fumbled on third and 11 before halftime, Spears recovered it. Pollard had 16 carries, Spears two.
Back in June the preview's case for Spears rested on his head coach calling him one of two bell cows. Four games: 15 carries, 65 yards; five catches, 40 yards. The split has not looked like that.
