Kamara carried 9 times for 36 yards and two first downs, eight of the carries after halftime, and caught his one target for 5 yards. His no-gain carry on third and one at the Raiders 20 with 3:01 left, down eight, came the snap before a fourth-down sack and fumble, in a 35–27 loss to the Raiders.

35 to 27, Raiders, three oh one left in the fourth quarter, third and one at the Las Vegas 20. Alvin Kamara went up the middle for no gain. −1.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −5.5 points of win probability, the change in the chance of winning from before the play to after it. On fourth and one Tyler Shough was sacked and fumbled, and the Raiders took over.
The line: nine carries, 36 yards, no touchdowns, two first downs, four of the nine successful, −1.2 expected points; one target, one catch, five yards. The carries went −3, nine, four, five, one, 11, three, six, nothing. One came before halftime, the −3 on the first snap of the Saints' third possession; eight came after. Nine and four on back-to-back snaps early in the third quarter, the four a first down on second and one; three straight carries for 11, three and six to start the drive after Brock Bowers's touchdown, down eight, the 11 a first down; and the stop on third and one. The catch was five yards on second and 18 in the second quarter.
The Saints had 27 designed runs: Travis Etienne 13, Kamara nine, Kendre Miller four, C.J. Donaldson one. After halftime Kamara had eight of the 15. He had one target to Etienne's two, a week after he had six.
Back in June the preview's read on Kamara was a cliff after eight straight seasons of strong production — 3.6 yards a carry last year, the worst of his career, in a season a knee injury ended early — with the note that the hands were still the hands. He was inactive in Week 1, per Saints Wire. Week 2 was nine carries for 15 yards and six targets, a lead back's usage without a lead back's yards. Sunday was nine carries for 36 one target, and the carry lead went back to Etienne. Two games, 18 carries, 51 yards, 2.8 a carry, and the receiving work fell from six targets to one. Two games settle little. New Orleans is home to the Falcons on Monday the fifth.
