Jeanty carried 19 times for 56 yards with a long of 12 and one first down, and caught all three targets for 37 yards, including a 22-yarder on the first snap after a Saints fumble that started the go-ahead drive. Two carries from the Saints four after an interception return netted nothing before Brock Bowers scored on third down, in a 35–27 win over the Saints.

27 to 22, Saints, 12 55 left in the fourth quarter, first and 10 at the Las Vegas 45, the first snap after the Raiders took the ball away on a sack and a fumble. Kirk Cousins threw short left to Ashton Jeanty, five yards past the line, and Jeanty was brought down at the Saints 33 after 22. +1.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the most on any of his 22 touches. Five snaps later Cody White caught the four-yard touchdown that put Las Vegas ahead to stay.
The line: 19 carries, 56 yards, no touchdowns, one first down, −6.6 expected points on the carries; three targets, three catches, 37 yards, two first downs. The carries went −1, four, three, three, four, one, two, six, two, nothing, six, nothing, seven, two, two, −2, 12, four, one. Four of the 19 were successful by expected points. Nine before halftime for 24 yards, 10 after for 32. The 12, his longest and his one first down on the ground, came with two 15 left and the Raiders up eight, running out the clock. Three carries started inside the Saints 10: two yards from the six with 10 oh six left, the snap before White's touchdown, and two tries after an interception return had set Las Vegas up at the four — two yards to the two, then −2 back to the four — before Brock Bowers caught the touchdown on third down. A nine-yard run in the first quarter went into the book as three after a holding call against Tre Tucker. In the second quarter a deep throw to him on third and seven drew pass interference and a first down at the 11, on the drive that ended in Michael Mayer's touchdown. The catches were four yards on second and 17 in the first quarter, 11 to the Saints 25 with 38 seconds left in the half, and the 22.
19 of the Raiders' 24 designed runs were his and five were Mike Washington's. Washington's five gained 54 yards and came out at +4.3 expected points; Jeanty's 19 gained 56. His three targets tied Jalen Nailor, Cody White and Mayer, behind Bowers's 13 and Tucker's four, on 30 Raiders throws that had a receiver.
Back in June the preview called Jeanty a watchlist — a year-two leap the data could not license in either direction, a bet on Klint Kubiak's offense more than on a rookie year of 3.7 yards a carry. Week 1 was 23 carries for a hundred two yards and two touchdown catches. Week 2 was 21 carries for 48, with a brief exit for an injury. Sunday was 19 for 56. Three games, 63 carries, 206 yards, 3.3 a carry. The workload the preview hoped for is here; the per-carry number so far sits below the rookie year it was meant to leap past. Three games settle little. Las Vegas is home to the Chiefs on Sunday the fourth.
