17 to 16, Chiefs, five 46 left in the game, third and two at the Kansas City 30. Ashton Jeanty took the handoff through the right guard and was stopped for no gain by Tranquill and Gillotte. −1.6 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −7.1 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the costliest Raiders run of the day by that measure. Matt Gay kicked the field goal for a 19-17 lead, and Kansas City scored the next 13 points.

The line: 15 carries, 58 yards, no touchdowns, three first downs, seven of the 15 successful, −2.9 expected points on the carries; eight targets, six catches, 68 yards, three first downs. The carries went four, nothing, eight, one, seven, six, five, −1, −1, nothing, nothing, six, 19, four and nothing. Four before halftime for 13 yards, 11 after for 45. The catches did more. First and 10 at the Las Vegas 46 early in the third quarter, up 13 to 10, he caught a throw two yards behind the line and was pushed out at the Kansas City 26, 28 yards, +1.7 expected points. Later on that drive, on fourth and two at the 18 after a Kansas City penalty had wiped out a made field goal, Cousins threw short left for him, incomplete. And on the last drive, fourth and 10 at the Las Vegas 16 with 37 seconds left, he caught it and ran out of bounds at the 28, 12 yards and 11 points of win probability.

The split: Jeanty 15 of the Raiders' 26 rush plays, Mike Washington nine, Connor Heyward two. Eight targets tied Tre Tucker for third on the team, behind Brock Bowers's 11 and Michael Mayer's 10.

Back in June the preview called Jeanty a watchlist, a year-two leap the data could not license either way. Four games: 78 carries, 264 yards, about 3.4 a carry, and 19 catches for a hundred 65. Sunday's eight targets and 68 receiving yards were both his most of the season. The per-carry number has not moved; the hands are where his workload grew.
