Austin Ekeler had a small part against the 49ers: 1 carry for 3 yards and 2 catches for 4, worth -1.0 expected points added (EPA), a measure of what each play was worth given down, distance and field position.

Washington drew up every touch for him, and none went anywhere. All three came after pre-snap motion, by the charting: the carry was a run-pass option, one catch was a screen and the other came off play-action. Both throws were catchable, and he caught both.

The screen came on the third-quarter touchdown drive, down 23-3, first and 5 at the 49ers 13; he was pushed out at the 11, and Washington scored three plays later for 23-10. The play-action catch, down 23-10 in the fourth, went 2 yards on second and 10.

In Weeks 4 and 5 he had 7 carries for 28 yards and 2 catches for 26 on 3 targets, all 3 catchable, with 1 drop.
