Brock Bowers carried the Raiders' passing game against the Patriots: 10 targets, 8 catches, 110 yards, 1 touchdown and +3.7 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The defining catch tied the game. Down 7-0 with 8:24 left in the first quarter, first and 10 at the New England 13, Kirk Cousins threw short right and Bowers caught it for the touchdown: +2.0 EPA and +6.1 points of win probability. Earlier on the drive he had converted third and 2 from the Las Vegas 28 with a 24-yard catch deep left, +2.3 EPA.

Third down kept finding him. He also converted third and 6 with an 18-yard catch and third and 4 with a 14-yarder in the second quarter, and caught a 27-yarder over the middle to the New England 24 in the third quarter.

The day ended badly. Down 35-10 with 2:04 left in the third quarter, fourth and 3 at the Las Vegas 49, he caught a short pass for 15 yards to the New England 36 and fumbled; Craig Woodson recovered. That play was -1.7 EPA. A snap earlier, a third-and-3 throw to him fell incomplete.

He has a touchdown in all three of his games this season. Weeks 3 and 4 brought 16 catches on 24 targets for 202 yards and +13.6 EPA.
