Brock Bowers got the ball in big spots against the Bills, but half his targets went nowhere: 9 targets, 4 catches, 70 yards, no touchdown and +3.2 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
His biggest catch came down 23-16 with 9:33 left. First and 10 at the Buffalo 42: Kirk Cousins threw deep left and Bowers was pushed out at the 13 after 29 yards, +1.9 EPA and +10.1 points of win probability. Three snaps later Tre Tucker caught the touchdown that tied it at 23. Bowers had an 18-yarder earlier on that drive. On the last play of the third quarter, third and 10 at the Buffalo 17, he caught a 15-yarder over the middle to the 2, +2.6 EPA; that drive ended in a field goal.
Five targets fell incomplete, two of them on the Raiders' last drive before the Bills went up 33-23.
Through Week 5 he had played Weeks 3 to 5: 34 targets, 24 catches, 312 yards, 3 touchdowns and +17.4 EPA, with a touchdown in each of those games. This was the first game without one.
