17 to 14, Packers, four 18 left, first and 10 at the Tampa Bay 15. Tampa Bay's Parrish had just intercepted Jordan Love at the seven, and Tampa Bay gave the ball to Bucky Irving three straight times: seven yards off left tackle, seven more through the right guard for a first down at the 29, then one yard. On second and three, that second seven-yarder was +0.7 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. The drive reached the Green Bay 46 and ended on a fourth-and-11 incompletion.

The line: 16 carries, 61 yards, no touchdown, three first downs, seven of the 16 successful, −0.9 expected points on the carries. No targets. Three carries gained seven and none gained more. On the third-quarter touchdown drive he carried four times for 15 yards, the last two from the Green Bay 17 to the 10, and Kenny Gainwell caught the touchdown two snaps later.

The split: Irving had 16 of the 22 carries by Tampa Bay running backs, with three each for Tucker and Gainwell. Jalon Daniels added eight runs of his own.

Back in June the preview said the first thing to watch in September was whether Irving's burst was back. Four games: 56 carries, 241 yards, 4.3 a carry, one touchdown. One run of 20 yards or more, the 38 in Week 2. The volume holds, the targets went to zero this week, and the burst has still shown up once.
