Chase Brown ran better than his season against the Ravens without breaking one: 11 carries, 39 yards and +0.1 expected points added (EPA), plus 4 catches on 5 targets for 19 yards and -1.7 EPA, in a 35-13 win at Baltimore. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Five of his 11 carries (45%) gained positive EPA, and none went for more than 6 yards.
His most useful carries came in the fourth quarter. Up 14-13 on the first drive of the quarter, second and 4 at his own 18, he ran right tackle for 6 yards and a first down, +0.5 EPA, on the drive that put Cincinnati up 21-13. On the next touchdown drive he ran 4 yards to the Baltimore 2, and Ja'Marr Chase scored two snaps later. The catch that cost the most came in the first quarter: third and 10 at his own 35, 3 yards short over the middle, -1.1 EPA, and a punt.
The carries beat his season rate. Through Week 5 he had 71 carries for 246 yards, 1 touchdown and -9.8 EPA, -0.14 a carry with 37% positive; here it was +0.01 a carry. He had caught 24 of 28 targets for 124 yards and -11.0 EPA.
