Chris Olave had his quietest game of the season against the Vikings: 6 targets, 4 catches, 46 yards, and +3.0 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
His biggest catch kept the Saints' only touchdown drive alive. Down 3-0 with 13:01 left in the second quarter, fourth and 2 at the Minnesota 41, Tyler Shough threw short right and Olave caught it for 5 yards to the 36: +2.7 EPA and +7.0 points of win probability. Kendre Miller scored from the 2 later on that drive.
His last target went the other way. Down 23-13 with 2:56 left, third and 12 at the New Orleans 18, a deep throw for him was intercepted by Byron Murphy at the Minnesota 46, and Olave pushed Murphy out of bounds.
Weeks 1 through 4 brought 48 targets, 35 catches, 491 yards and +35.0 EPA. He never had fewer than 10 targets or 86 yards in any of those games.
