Christian Watson had his third 100-yard game of the season against the Panthers: 10 targets, 8 catches, 113 yards and +1.4 expected points added (EPA). EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. A lost fumble took most of the value back.

The big one came down 10-6 with 9:19 left in the half. First and 10 at the Green Bay 21: Jordan Love threw deep over the middle and Watson caught it for 53 yards to the Carolina 26, +3.2 EPA and 13.2 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. Josh Jacobs scored five snaps later. The play-by-play lists Watson as injured on the catch. His next target came with 4:01 left in the third quarter, the play where it records his return, and he caught two more passes after it, the last a 7-yarder on third and 2 with 2:33 left that made Carolina spend its final timeout.

He set up the first touchdown too. Third and 8 at the Carolina 38 in the first quarter, he caught a short pass to the left and took it 24 yards to the 14, +2.9 EPA; Tucker Kraft scored three snaps later. The cost came early in the second quarter: third and 4 at midfield, an 8-yard catch, then a fumble Carolina recovered at its 37, -3.5 EPA.

The yards were there; the value was below his season. Through Week 7 he had 56 targets, 34 catches, 595 yards, 6 touchdowns and +29.2 EPA, +0.52 a target; here it was +0.14.
