Parkinson caught both of his targets for 15 yards, the second an eight-yard conversion on third and one with 12:00 left in the fourth that kept alive the drive Terrance Ferguson finished with a touchdown. Ferguson was targeted nine times to Parkinson's two, in a 28–6 win over the Giants.

21 to six, 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, third and one at the New York 30. Matthew Stafford threw short right to Colby Parkinson for eight yards and the first down. +1.2 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and the drive it kept alive reached the end zone three minutes later on the Terrance Ferguson touchdown that made it 28 to six.
The line: two targets, two catches, 15 yards, one first down, +1.4 expected points on the targets. The other was seven yards short left on first and 10 at the Los Angeles 31 with three 42 left in the first quarter, a ball thrown three yards behind the line of scrimmage. One target in each half, both caught. He was also flagged for holding in the first quarter, on a Stafford scramble to the New York 25 that came back.
Two targets were six percent of the 31 Rams throws, tied for third on the team with three others, and second among the tight ends: Ferguson nine, Parkinson two, Davis Allen one, and nothing at all to Tyler Higbee. Ferguson caught six for 54 yards and the touchdown; Parkinson caught both of his for 15.
Back in June the preview said the market's fade of Parkinson was probably right: a top-15 tight end finish built on eight touchdowns, more than he had scored in his first five seasons combined, on 43 catches that the preview called the modest, believable, repeatable part. Week One was one catch of two targets for six yards on the drive that died at the San Francisco one. Week Two was two of two for 15. Two games, four targets, 21 yards, no touchdowns — the catches are arriving at the rate the preview described, the scores are not, and the tight-end volume in this offense has gone to a second-year player instead. Los Angeles is at the Broncos on Sunday night the 20-seventh.
