Boston caught 2 of 4 targets for 41 yards: a 28-yarder on first and ten from the Cleveland 29, down 12–10, that started the drive to the go-ahead field goal, and 13 yards on the first snap of the winning touchdown drive. He also caught the two-point try that made it 21–18, and a 23-yard catch in the second quarter was wiped out by holding, in a 21–18 win over the Panthers.

12 to 10, Panthers, 11 35 left in the fourth quarter, first and 10 at the Cleveland 29, the first snap after Carolina took its first lead. Deshaun Watson threw deep right to Denzel Boston, 19 yards in the air, 28 yards to the Carolina 43. +1.5 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 9.2 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. The drive stalled at the 27 after a 10-yard sack, and Andre Szmyt's 45-yard field goal put Cleveland back ahead 13 to 12.
The line: four targets, two catches, 41 yards, two first downs, +0.5 expected points on the targets. The 13 was first and 10 at the Cleveland 35 with four 19 left, down 18 to 13, to the 48, the first snap of the drive that won the game. His other target on that drive was Watson's first throw back from injury, second and 10 at the Carolina 14 with two minutes left, short right, incomplete, the snap before Harold Fannin's touchdown. Then came the two-point try, Watson to Boston, complete, 21 to 18. The other incompletion was second and 14 at the Carolina 43 in the second quarter. A 23-yard catch to the Carolina 11 earlier on that same drive came back on offensive holding against Spencer Fano. One target before halftime, three after.
Four targets were fourth among the Browns, behind nine each for Fannin and KC Concepcion and five for Raheim Sanders. 41 yards were second on the team to Fannin's 51.
Back in June the preview's read on Boston was a six-four second-round pick with a contested-catch, red-zone profile, spring buzz from The Athletic, and a bet that the buzz was real. Week 1 was a 46-yard touchdown with the game decided. Week 2 was 95 yards and a 55-yard touchdown that tied a game Cleveland won. Sunday was quieter in the line and louder late: the one target inside the Carolina 20, and the two-point catch from the two, which does not enter the stat line at all. Three games: 15 targets, nine catches, a hundred 95 yards, the most on the Browns, and two touchdowns. The red-zone role is still unsettled after three weeks. Cleveland is home to the Steelers on Thursday the first.
