Fannin caught five of six targets for 54 yards and three first downs, including a 21-yarder on Cleveland's first scoring drive and six yards on third and one at the Tampa Bay 31 with 4:53 left, three snaps before the winning touchdown. His 54 yards were second on the team, in a 23–19 win over the Buccaneers.

19 to 16, Buccaneers, four 53 left in the game, third and one at the Tampa Bay 31. Deshaun Watson threw short over the middle to Harold Fannin, six yards to the 25 and a first down. +0.7 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 7.0 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Three snaps later Watson found the other tight end, Blake Whiteheart, for the 17-yard touchdown that won it.
The line: six targets, five catches, 54 yards, three first downs, +2.1 expected points on his targets. The catches went 21, six, 13, eight and six. The 21 was the biggest of them by win probability, +7.4: first and 10 at the Cleveland 43 with nine 50 left in the first quarter, Browns down three to nothing, short left, 15 yards in the air, pushed out at the Tampa Bay 36, on the drive that ended in a 50-yard field goal. The 13 came on first and 10 from the Cleveland 17 late in the third quarter, the first snap of the three-play drive that ended in Denzel Boston's 55-yard touchdown. The eight and the last six both came on the 12-play drive that won the game. The one incompletion was third and 12 at the Cleveland 31 with two 40 left in the first quarter, and a punt followed. Two third-down targets, one caught, one converted. Two targets before halftime, four after.
Six targets tied him with KC Concepcion for second on the team behind Boston's seven, and 54 yards was second to Boston's 95. The tight ends had eight of Watson's 30 throws, six to Fannin and two to Whiteheart. In Week 1 the same room had four of 22.
Back in June the preview's case for Fannin was a 72-catch rookie season, built while sharing the position with David Njoku, and a room that now belonged to him, with the quality of Cleveland's offense as the cap. Week 1 was three targets, two of them with the Browns down 31, and the thing to watch was targets while the game was still a game. Sunday answered that one directly: all six of his targets came with Cleveland within 10 points, and two came on the drive that decided it. Six is also about what he averaged as a rookie, a hundred seven targets across 16 games. Two games, nine targets, and only the second one looked like the preview. Cleveland is home to the Panthers on Sunday the 20-seventh.
