The full read
Jameson Williams scored both of Detroit's touchdowns against the Packers: 9 targets, 5 catches, 91 yards and +2.5 expected points added (EPA). EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
Each score came one snap after a long catch. On the first drive, scoreless, he caught a deep pass to the right for 24 yards to the Green Bay 16, then a short one to the left for the 16-yard touchdown, +1.8 EPA. Down 14-10 in the third, first and 10 at the Detroit 34, he caught a deep throw over the middle for 30 yards, +1.8 EPA and 8.8 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. Six plays later, second and 9 at the 10, he caught the touchdown over the middle for 17-14, +2.1 EPA.
The four throws he did not catch cost -5.4 EPA. Up 17-14 late in the third, the last two came from the 6 on third and fourth and 5, with Brandon Cisse named as the defender on both; the fourth-down miss was -3.0 EPA and 11.2 points of win probability.
The two touchdowns matched his total from his first five games, when he caught 18 of 29 targets for 276 yards and +20.5 EPA, +0.71 a target. Here it was +0.27, and the 91 yards were his second-most this season, after 102 against Carolina.
