2026 NFL Season · Monday, Aug 31
Jayden Reed is on the initial fifty-three the Packers announced Sunday, one of six receivers kept. The week's only other Reed item is a single practice target — a crosser into a tight window from Jordan Love that went incomplete on a drop — and no injury is attached to him anywhere.
When Jayden Reed's week moves the numbers, you'll know — every episode, in one weekly email.

Jayden Reed's name is on the initial 53 the Packers announced Sunday — one of six receivers kept, per Wes Hodkiewicz at packers.com. No injury is attached to him anywhere in the reporting; he does not appear in Friday's finale coverage, on a night when Kyle McCord played the whole game and no starters appear in the beat's account of it, per Mike Spofford at packers.com.
The room narrowed around him. Will Sheppard, Isaiah Neyor and Kisean Johnson were all cut, per Bill Huber at Packers On SI, who grouped the three as the finale's receiver standouts; undrafted rookie J. Michael Sturdivant took the sixth spot, per Hodkiewicz; and Savion Williams — the other young receiver in the room — went to injured reserve, designated to return, with no return week reported, per Evan Siegle at packers.com.
Our last episode's watch line asked whether the third-down and red-zone looks from Jordan Love — where Reed's seasons have always been made — kept showing up in the practice reports. The window's one practice writeup, from Wednesday's joint session with Arizona, has exactly one Reed rep in it: on the play right after Love's 45-yard touchdown to Matthew Golden, Love came back to Reed on a crosser through a tight window, and the throw was dropped, per Hodkiewicz. That is a target, not a situational answer — the writeup does not place the rep on third down or in the red zone — and one practice cannot rank a six-man room, so we report what it holds and stop. The June preview left two questions open on Reed after the collarbone year: health, which August answered twice over, and target competition, which is still live and still unscored — now inside a room formally cut to six, with Williams removed from it for the near term. More when the games start answering.
