27 to 23, Cowboys, four 11 left, first and 10 at the Dallas 45. C.J. Stroud threw deep right to Jaylin Noel for 22 yards to the 23. +1.4 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 17 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the second-biggest gain on any Houston snap. The drive ended in Woody Marks's go-ahead touchdown.
His longest came in the first quarter, Houston up seven to three: second and one at the Houston 17, deep left, 52 yards to the Dallas 31, +3.1, the most of any Houston play by expected points. That drive ended in a 51-yard field goal.
The line: three targets, three catches, 85 yards, three first downs, +4.7 expected points on his targets; one carry for four. The third catch was 11 yards on the last drive. In the return game he took a kickoff 53 yards to the Dallas 38 after Dallas cut it to 16 to 13 in the third, and four snaps later Nico Collins caught a touchdown.
Back in June the preview had Noel as a rookie whose issue was volume, not availability. Four games: 12 targets, eight catches, a hundred 86 yards. Sunday's three targets were the fourth-most on the team, and they produced his most yards of the season.
