17 to six, 49ers, four 50 left in the fourth quarter, second and one at the San Francisco 22. J.K. Dobbins went right guard for nine yards to the 13, and on the next snap Bo Nix found Jaylen Waddle for the touchdown. Earlier on that drive Dobbins ran for eight, two and two: four of his 11 carries, 21 of his 40 yards.

The line: 11 carries, 40 yards, two first downs, −1.3 expected points added on the carries — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position; two targets, two catches, 12 yards, one first down on a seven-yarder at the end of the third quarter. Before the touchdown drive, his seven carries gained 19 yards, none longer than five.

11 of Denver's 20 designed runs were his; RJ Harvey had seven, Tyler Badie two.

Back in June the preview called him a two-down back by design who has never played a full season, and credited him with five yards a carry last year. Weeks 1 through 3 were 35 carries for a hundred 21 yards. Four games: 46 carries, a hundred 61 yards, 3.5 a carry, no touchdowns.
