16 to 10, Jaguars, 14 16 left in the game, first and 10 at the Jacksonville 10. Joe Burrow had just hit Tee Higgins for 26 yards on the first snap of the fourth quarter. He threw short right for Mitchell Tinsley, and Oluokun intercepted at the 10 and brought it out to the 15. −5 point oh expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −21.8 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. The other interception came with two minutes left in the first half, down six to three, third and six at the Jacksonville 45: short over the middle for Dohnte Meyers, picked by Lewis and returned 45 yards to the Cincinnati 18, −6.2. Jacksonville scored a touchdown on that short field.

The line: 39 of 54, 428 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, two sacks, and +7.4 expected points on 56 pass plays, with the two interceptions −11.2 of it. 16 of 20 for a hundred 41 before halftime; 23 of 34 for 287 after. The touchdown pass was 15 yards to Mike Gesicki on third and seven at the Jacksonville 15 in the third quarter, +3 point oh, to make it 13 to 10. On third down he threw nine times, completed six and converted four. He ran three times for six yards, the last a one-yard touchdown with three 33 left that made it 22 to 17. The final drive went from the Cincinnati 17 to the Jacksonville 21 in three throws, 29 to Tinsley, 18 to Gesicki and 15 to Meyers, then three incompletions, and on fourth and 10 Chase Brown was tackled one yard short.

The split: Higgins 16 targets, Brown 11, Meyers nine, Tinsley seven, Gesicki five, and Ja'Marr Chase three before the play-by-play marked him injured in the second quarter.

Back in June the preview called Burrow elite when healthy and said that was the whole bet. He has played all four games: a hundred 12 of a hundred 57, 1171 yards, seven touchdowns, three interceptions, nine sacks. Sunday's 54 throws and 428 yards are his most this season, and so are the two interceptions, after one in his first three games. The health question has not come up. The giveaways did.
