Kenneth Gainwell shared the load in an offense that barely threw against the Falcons: 25 carries for a season-high 140 yards in Tampa Bay's 16-0 win at home on Sunday, worth +0.3 expected points added (EPA). EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Tampa Bay ran 55 rush plays and 4 pass plays, and he and Bucky Irving, with 27 carries, took 52 of the runs. 14 of his 25 carries, 56%, were successful, meaning they gained what the situation asked for. He was targeted once, an incompletion on third and 5.

His longest run set up the game's only touchdown. Up 9-0 with 4:59 left in the third, second and 9 at the Atlanta 34, he went around left end for 28 yards to the 6, +2.5 EPA, and Irving scored two snaps later. He closed it out too: up 16-0 with 3:10 left, he carried seven straight times for 47 yards, from the Tampa Bay 14 to the Atlanta 34, as the Falcons spent their timeouts, and Baker Mayfield knelt to end it.

Through Week 7 he had 33 carries for 149 yards in seven games, 88 of them in Week 7, with a 39.4% success rate. Per carry the value held level, +0.01 EPA here and through Week 7.
