14 to 12, Cardinals, two 28 left in the second quarter, second and nine at the Arizona 25, the second snap after Reese's interception had handed the Giants the ball. Jameis Winston threw deep middle for Malik Nabers, 23 yards in the air, and Nabers carried it the last two into the end zone. +3.7 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and seven and a half points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. The kick made it 19 to 14, the Giants' first lead of the day, and they trailed only once more.

The line: seven targets, six catches, 112 yards, one touchdown, four first downs, +10.9 expected points on the targets, and 113 air yards. The biggest single play came first. Nothing to seven, 10 26 left in the first quarter, third and 12 at the Giants 21: deep right to Nabers for 39 to the Arizona 40, +4.4, the best Giants play of the day by expected points. Three snaps later he caught nine on third and six to the 27, and the drive ended in a 39-yard field goal. Down 24 to 19 in the third, he opened the go-ahead drive with 28 yards deep left on first and 10 from the Giants 24. The other catches went five and six. The one miss was short right on second and 20, the snap before Malachi Fields's 40-yard catch.

Seven targets were second on the team to Isaiah Likely's 12, 24 percent of Winston's throws. Fields had three, Darnell Mooney two.

Back in June the preview put Nabers on the watchlist and said availability first, then the explosiveness. He has played all four games. The explosiveness is the new part: three catches of 25 yards or more on Sunday, after a longest catch of 16 across the first three weeks. Through three games he had 19 targets, 12 catches and 96 yards; Sunday's hundred 12 was more than all of it. Four games: 26 targets, 18 catches, 208 yards, one touchdown.
