Malik Nabers drew a heavy load against the Commanders and scored the tying touchdown: 20 targets, 11 catches, 121 yards, 1 touchdown, +3.4 expected points added (EPA) on his targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The defining catch tied the game. Down 27-20 with 1:48 left, first and 10 at the Washington 17, Jameis Winston threw deep over the middle and Nabers caught it in the end zone: +2.6 EPA and +7.5 points of win probability. He kept that drive alive earlier, on third and 7 at the Giants 43 with 3:18 left, with a 16-yard catch to the Washington 41, +2.0 EPA.

Overtime brought both ends of his day on consecutive snaps. Tied with 4:40 left, first and 10 at the Giants 36, he caught a deep ball over the middle for 28 yards to the Washington 36, +16.3 points of win probability. On the next play a short pass to him lost 2 yards, -18.8 points of win probability. The drive reached the Washington 24 before Cam Skattebo's fumble.

Volume was the story against his baseline. 20 targets nearly matched his 26 across Weeks 1 through 4, when he caught 18 for 208 yards, 1 touchdown and +5.9 EPA. Nine of this week's targets fell incomplete, and Winston's throws to him carried 245 air yards for the 121 he gained.
