The full read
Nico Collins caught only three passes against the Jaguars, and each one moved Houston a long way: 74 yards and +5.1 expected points added (EPA) on 5 targets. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.
The biggest came with the lead at stake. Up 31-28 with 7:46 left, third and 11 at the Houston 46, C.J. Stroud threw short right and Collins caught it for 21 yards to the Jacksonville 33: +2.7 EPA and +11.9 points of win probability. He added an 11-yarder to the Jacksonville 9 on that drive, which ended when Travis Hunter intercepted Stroud in the end zone from the 4.
He set up Houston's first score too. In a scoreless first quarter, first and 10 at the Houston 49, he caught a 42-yarder deep right to the Jacksonville 9, +2.7 EPA and +8.6 points of win probability, and Foster Moreau caught a 6-yard touchdown on that drive.
It fit his start. Through Week 5, in Weeks 1, 4 and 5, he had 25 targets, 19 catches, 249 yards, 3 touchdowns and +18.9 EPA.
