Omarion Hampton found little room against the Rams: 9 carries, 20 yards and -4.9 expected points added (EPA), plus 2 catches for 7 yards on 3 targets, in a 24-9 loss. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. One of his 9 carries was a successful play, meaning it gained what the situation asked for: a 6-yarder on first and 10 at the Rams 24.

Two carries cost the most. On third and 1 at the Rams 15 late in the first quarter, he was dropped for a 1-yard loss, -2.0 EPA and 4.1 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win. On third and 3 at the Rams 23 in the second, he gained nothing, -1.3 EPA and 4.6 points. Both drives ended in field goals.

It was under even his season rate. Through Week 6 he had 80 carries for 289 yards, 3 touchdowns and -21.3 EPA, -0.27 a carry, with 33.8% successful; here it was -0.55 and 11.1%.
