Oronde Gadsden was the Chargers' late-down target against the Rams: 5 targets, 5 catches, 52 yards and +2.2 expected points added (EPA), every catch on third or fourth down, in a 24-9 loss. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position. Three of the five moved the chains.

The best came down 6-3 in the second quarter: third and 7 at the Rams 45, a short throw to the right that he took out of bounds at the 30, +2.0 EPA, on a drive that ended in Cameron Dicker's 41-yard field goal. The last came down 24-9 with 6:42 left: fourth and 8 at the Rams 24, a short pass to the right, and the ball was spotted at the 17 after a replay review, a yard short, -2.8 EPA. The Rams ran out the clock from there. In between, he converted third and 5 in the third quarter and third and 2 in the fourth, and caught a 9-yarder on third and 17.

It was a turn from his season. Through Week 6 he had 21 targets, 12 catches, 103 yards, a touchdown and -11.0 EPA, -0.52 a target; here it was +0.44, and the 5 catches matched his most this season.
