Washington caught 7 of 12 targets for 98 yards, including a 32-yard catch to the Denver 1 on second and 18 that set up Jacksonville's only touchdown. All three of his third-down targets failed, one of them Riley Moss's interception late in the third quarter, in a 20–13 loss to the Broncos.

Nothing to nothing, 13 oh six left in the second quarter, second and 18 at the Denver 33 — 18 because Parker Washington's own illegal shift had just wiped out a 10-yard catch by Brenton Strange. Trevor Lawrence threw deep middle, 28 yards in the air, and Washington took it 32 yards to the Denver one, where Brandon Jones brought him down. +3.8 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the largest figure for any Jacksonville play of the day, and 8.2 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Bhayshul Tuten scored on the next snap.
The line: 12 targets, seven catches, 98 yards, three first downs, no touchdown, −0.4 expected points on the targets, a hundred 77 air yards. The catches went five, nine, 32, 11, 18, five and 18. Three of them came in the last two minutes of the half — 11 on first and 20 from the Jacksonville 10, 18 deep left to the 48, five more to the Denver 47 — on the drive that ended in Cam Little's 44-yard field goal. The last was 18 deep middle on the second snap of the third quarter. Eight targets before halftime, four after, and of those four he caught one.
The third downs are the other half of it. Three targets, no catches. Third and eight at midfield in the first quarter, deep left, incomplete. Third and six at midfield with a minute 40 left in the third, up 13 to six: deep left, intercepted by Riley Moss at the Denver 33, Washington making the tackle on the return. −3.4 expected points and −7.5 points of win probability, Jacksonville's worst play from scrimmage on the day by both measures. And third and eight at the Denver 36 with nine 50 left, tied at 13: short right, broken up, and the 54-yard field goal that followed went wide left. He also muffed the game's first punt and recovered it himself at the Jacksonville 28, and returned another 12 yards.
12 of Lawrence's 29 throws went to Washington and eight to Brian Thomas; nobody else on the team had more than two.
Back in June the preview's case for Washington was a third-year breakout in a defined slot role, fairly priced, with an availability rate around 74 percent as the caution. Week 1 was six targets, all before halftime, 83 yards and a touchdown, worth +8.8 expected points. Sunday doubled the targets and the value went slightly negative, because the volume held and the third downs did not. He has led the team in targets both weeks. Two games say the role is real; they say less about what it is worth. Jacksonville is home to the Patriots on Sunday the 20-seventh.
