Washington caught 3 of 5 targets for 40 yards and a 17-yard touchdown on third and 17 with 1:13 left in the third quarter, one snap after his 7-yard touchdown was wiped out by an illegal-use-of-hands penalty. His 18-yard catch on third and 5 in a scoreless first quarter kept alive the drive to the game's first touchdown, in a 35–6 win over the Patriots.

14 to three, Jaguars, a minute 29 left in the third quarter, first and goal at the New England seven, seven because a false start had pushed Jacksonville back from the two. Trevor Lawrence threw short right for Parker Washington: incomplete. Second and seven, short left for Washington: incomplete. Third and seven, short left for Washington, seven yards and a touchdown, until a flag on Cole Van Lanen for illegal use of hands took it away. Third and 17 from the 17, and Lawrence went to him a fourth straight time, deep left. Washington caught it for the touchdown, and a pass-interference flag on Marcus Jones was declined. +3.9 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the largest figure on any pass or run by either team all day.
The line: five targets, three catches, 40 yards, one touchdown, two first downs, +4.6 expected points on the targets. The first catch mattered earlier: nothing to nothing, two 24 left in the first quarter, third and five at the Jacksonville 43, short middle for 18 to the New England 39. +6.8 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. That drive had started with DaVon Hamilton's recovery of Drake Maye's fumble, and it ended in Josh Cameron's touchdown. The other catch was five yards on the first snap after New England's second-quarter field goal. Two targets before halftime, three after, all three on that one series at the goal line. Both third-down targets caught, both converted.
The split: Jakobi Meyers had eight of the 27 Jaguars throws that had a receiver, and Washington and Brenton Strange had five each. It is the first game this season in which Washington has not led the team in targets.
Back in June the preview called Washington a third-year breakout in a defined slot role, with an availability rate around 74 percent as the caution. Week 1 was six targets, 83 yards and a touchdown. Week 2 was 12 targets, seven catches and 98 yards. Sunday was five, with Meyers the one getting fed. Three games, 23 targets, 15 catches, 221 yards, two touchdowns, and he has played all three, which is the availability half of the June question. 12 targets one week and five the next is the range of a role in a room with more than one mouth. Jacksonville is at the Bengals on Sunday the fourth.
