Ray Davis — Week 2: One Kickoff Return, No Touches
2026 NFL Season · Half-PPR Scoring · Friday, Sep 18
Davis was active and did not carry the ball or draw a target; his one appearance in the play-by-play is a 31-yard kickoff return from the one to the Buffalo 32 with 5:03 left in the second quarter, which started a four-play touchdown drive. James Cook carried 21 times, in a 41–31 win over the Lions.

21 to seven, Bills, five-oh-three left in the half. Jake Bates kicked off 64 yards to the Buffalo one, and Ray Davis brought it out to the 32, 31 yards. That is the whole of his night in the play-by-play. No carry, no target, no touch from scrimmage. The drive he started went four plays: James Cook for 20, Cook for 35, Cook for seven, and Dalton Kincaid for the touchdown after a holding penalty. Two minutes and 11 seconds, 27 to seven.
Where the carries went: Cook 21 for a hundred 35 and a touchdown, Josh Allen six designed runs +5 scrambles for 72 two touchdowns, DJ Moore one for −1. 33 rush plays against 33 pass plays, and the run game came out at +13.6 expected points as a unit — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the pass game at +15.1. Cook had three of the targets. There was no second running back in the box score at all.
Back in June the preview's line on Davis was depth-chart access rather than a defined weekly role — a sixtieth-place finish among running backs across all 17 games. Week 1 was one carry and two kickoff returns. Thursday was no carries and one return, on a night Buffalo ran 33 times. Two games say the same thing, and the second one said it with more rushing volume to share. Buffalo is home to the Chargers on Sunday the 20-seventh.
