Rome Odunze caught the passes that held the lead against the Patriots: 5 targets, 4 catches, 69 yards and +6.3 expected points added (EPA), 63 of the yards on three fourth-quarter catches of 21 each. EPA is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position.

The one that mattered most came up 27-21 with 4:59 left. Third and 9 at the Chicago 10, Caleb Williams threw deep right and Odunze caught it for 21 yards to the 31: +2.34 EPA and 8.4 points of win probability, the estimate of each side's chance to win, more than any other Chicago play from scrimmage. Two plays later, second and 12, he caught a short pass to the right and gained 14 after the catch to reach midfield, +1.87 EPA. That drive ended in Cairo Santos's 58-yard field goal, and Odunze recovered the onside kick that followed. His first 21-yarder came on third and 11 at the Chicago 13 on Chicago's first drive of the quarter, +2.93 EPA.

It added to a positive season. Through Week 6 he had 33 targets, 20 catches, 312 yards, no touchdowns and +10.2 EPA.
