Nothing to nothing against the Bills, seven 40 left in the first quarter, fourth and three at the Buffalo 29. Drake Maye threw short left to Romeo Doubs, and he was pushed out at the 14, 15 yards. +3.1 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and eight points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, his best snap of the day by expected points. On the next play Maye went short middle to Doubs for 14 yards and the touchdown, seven to nothing.

The second half did it again. 17 to 14, Bills, 10 oh nine left in the third quarter, fourth and two at the Buffalo 17: short left to Doubs, nine yards to the eight. Four snaps later, on second and goal from the two, Maye threw short right to him for the touchdown, and New England led 21 to 17.

The line: nine targets, six catches, 58 yards, two touchdowns, five first downs, +5.7 expected points on the targets, and a hundred 20 air yards, the most of anyone on the team. The catches went 15, 14, six, nine, two and 12. The 12 was second and 10 on the go-ahead drive in the fourth, to the Buffalo 47. The misses: deep right on the next snap; third and seven at the New England 44 in the third quarter, followed by a punt; and the interception, short left with 16 seconds left in the half, tied at 14, which Alford returned to the New England nine.

The split: nine of Maye's 37 throws, the team high. Henry and Stevenson had five each, Chism and Hollins four.

Back in June the preview called Doubs the most repeatable profile in the room, with the volume the question. His targets went three, four and four over the first three weeks, 11 for a hundred 45 yards and no touchdowns. Sunday's nine were the most of his four games. Four games: 20 targets, 12 catches, 203 yards, two touchdowns.
