Nothing to nothing, 13 26 left in the first quarter, second and 10 at the Seattle 41, out of a Chargers timeout, against the Seahawks. Justin Herbert threw short left to Tre Harris for 13 yards to the 28. +1.6 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 6.3 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it, the largest gain on any Chargers pass or run. The drive stalled and ended in a 40-yard field goal, the only lead the Chargers had.

The line: five targets, three catches, 60 yards, three first downs, +2.4 expected points on the targets. The 26 came on first and 10 from the Chargers' 46 in the third quarter, down 27 to six, deep right and pushed out at the Seattle 20; a false start on Harris followed, and the drive ended in a touchdown. The 21 was third and four at the Seattle 40 with two 23 left, down 30 to 20, deep left and out of bounds at the 19, and the field goal came on the next snap. The misses: deep right on first and 10 from the Chargers' 15 late in the third, and short right on first and 10 at the Seattle 46 with two 54 left. On first and nine at the Seattle nine in the third quarter he threw a pass, short left for Herbert, incomplete, and Kimani Vidal caught the touchdown on the next snap.

Five targets of Herbert's 31 throws were third on the team, behind eight to Oronde Gadsden and six to Keaton Mitchell. His 91 air yards were the most of any Charger.

Back in June the preview called Harris a watchlist: the fifth option as a rookie on 2.7 targets a game, with September targets against that baseline as the thing to watch. Through four games: 21 targets, 13 catches, 209 yards, a little over five targets a game.
