St. Brown caught nine of 13 targets for 142 yards and two touchdowns, a two-yarder on second and one in the third quarter and 27 down the middle with 1:48 left, with catches of 34, 22 and 21. Eleven of the 13 targets came after halftime; his target share was 34 percent, in a 41–31 loss to the Bills.

34 to 17, Bills, 28 seconds left in the third quarter, second and 10 at the Detroit 34. Jared Goff threw deep left to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was pushed out at the Buffalo 32, 34 yards. +3.0 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the longest pass play of the night for either side that was not a touchdown, and the second play of the drive that ended with Sam LaPorta's score.
The line: 13 targets, nine catches, a hundred 42 yards, two touchdowns, seven first downs, +10.7 expected points on his targets, the most of any receiver in the game. A hundred 48 air yards, 43 after the catch. The catches: 11 on the first scoring drive, 22 with 28 seconds left in the half, 21 on third and two on the first drive of the third quarter, five, nine to the two, the two-yard touchdown on second and one with nine 31 left in the third, the 34, 11 on third and eight, and the 27-yard touchdown down the middle with a minute 48 left, when the win probability model had Detroit at one-tenth of a percent. Two targets before halftime, 11 after. Five third-down targets, three caught, two converted; the third-and-18 with two 16 left went deep to him and fell incomplete.
13 targets put him first on the Lions by five, ahead of Jahmyr Gibbs's eight and Sam LaPorta's seven. Goff threw 38 times; more than a third went to St. Brown. He had two of the four touchdown catches, and both the 34 and the 21 came on the two drives that cut the lead to 10.
Back in June the preview called St. Brown the rarest call the show makes — a WR3 finish across all 17 games, on a target share, a role and a health record of about 96 percent availability over five years, all of which the read said carry forward. Week 1 was 14 targets for 67 yards and two touchdowns, and the episode said the target count was the one to keep and left open whether the yards or the targets were the truer read. Thursday was 13 targets and a hundred 42, so for one week the answer was both. Two games, 27 targets, four touchdowns, and the only thing that moved was the yardage. Detroit is home to the Jets on Sunday the 20-seventh.
