Williams caught 2 of 4 targets for 15 yards, and the two misses were the first throws to him this season that he did not catch, after seven for seven. A deep ball on third and two in the third quarter was Washington's costliest pass or run of the game by expected points, in a 33–31 win over the Seahawks.

17 to 10, Commanders, 13 37 left in the third quarter, third and two at the Washington 42. Marcus Mariota threw deep right to Antonio Williams, 32 yards in the air, incomplete, and Washington punted. −1.8 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — the lowest figure on any Washington pass or run of the game, and −2.9 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it.
The line: four targets, two catches, 15 yards, no first downs, −1.6 expected points on the targets, 52 air yards. The catches: nine yards on first and 10 at the Seattle 48 in the second quarter, out of a no-huddle, on the drive that ended in Treylon Burks's touchdown; and six yards on second and 10 with 41 seconds left in the half, pushed out at the Seattle 41, before Washington's 57-yard field goal. The other miss was second and nine from the Washington 34 with two minutes left, up 33 to 31, short right; on the next snap Rachaad White ran 19 yards on third and nine. Two targets in each half.
Four of Mariota's 30 throws that had a receiver was third on the team, behind Terry McLaurin's nine and Stefon Diggs's seven.
Back in June the preview refused to fake precision on Williams: a third-round pick, 70-first overall, a slot receiver in a first-year offense, with Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane as the competition and McLaurin's health re-sorting the whole tree. Week 1 was four catches on four targets and the late touchdown. Week 2 was three for three, all on one fourth-quarter drive. Sunday McCaffrey was active and returned kicks, Lane caught one ball for 21 yards, McLaurin drew nine targets, and Williams had four. Through three games he has caught nine of 11 for a hundred three yards, 12 percent of Washington's targeted throws. The catch rate came down to earth; the share has not grown. Washington faces the Colts in London on Sunday the fourth.
