Allen converted fourth and one at the Tennessee twenty-two in the second quarter and had a twenty-three-yard touchdown run on fourth and one in the third wiped out by a holding penalty on Josh Myers. He finished with ten carries for forty yards, no touchdowns and one incompletion on third and five, ten carries to Breece Hall's twenty-two, in a 23–10 win over the Titans.

The longest run of Braelon Allen's day does not count. Fourth and one at the Tennessee 23, four 44 left in the third quarter, Jets up 17 to three: Allen off left tackle for 23 yards and a touchdown, nullified by holding on Josh Myers, nine yards enforced at the 23. New York kicked a 51-yard field goal on the next snap instead. The play that did count came in the second: fourth and one at the Tennessee 22, seven 29 left, Jets up seven to three, one play after he had been stopped for no gain on third and one from the same spot. Left guard, three yards, first down. That was worth +1.6 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and 4.4 points of win probability; the expected-points figure was the largest in his line.
The line: 10 carries, 40 yards, no touchdowns, longest nine, five of the 10 successful, three first downs, −0.6 expected points in total. Six of the carries came before halftime for 31 yards, all six on the 19-play drive that started at the New York 12 — seven, nine, eight and four in a row to start his day, then the no-gain and the fourth-down conversion. The one target was on that drive too: third and five at the Tennessee 14, five oh nine left in the half, incomplete short left, and the Jets settled for a 33-yard field goal. Four second-half carries went four, −1, two and four.
Breece Hall carried 22 times for a hundred two yards and the one touchdown a running back scored; Allen carried 10 for 40, and Kenyon Sadiq scored the other rushing touchdown, from the three. 32 carries to the two backs against 24 pass plays. The fourth-down work went to Allen twice and the goal-line carry once to Hall, so the split is a real one and this was the smaller side of it.
Back in June the preview had almost nothing to evaluate — four games in 2025, 3.6 a game, a season that ended early. Sunday added 10 carries, a short-yardage role that the offense used twice on fourth down, and a 23-yard run that will not appear in any stat line. One game is a starting point, not a share. New York is home to the Packers on Sunday the twentieth. The number to watch is fourth-and-short.
