13 to three, Bears, 12 16 left in the third quarter, first and 10 at the Chicago 39. Braelon Allen had just carried four straight times to open the half, five, six, five and 10 yards, from the Jets 35. This time he went left tackle and was brought down for a loss of five. −1.4 expected points added — expected points added is what a play was worth given down, distance and field position — and −3.3 points of win probability, the chance of winning the game after the play against before it. Two snaps later Geno Smith was sacked on third and four, and the Jets punted.
The line: 14 carries, 59 yards, three rushing first downs, eight of the 14 successful, +0.5 expected points on the carries; two catches for eight and a first down. After Chicago's fumble in the third he carried twice for six to the Chicago seven, and the drive ended in a field goal.
The split: all 14 Jets rush plays. Breece Hall, who carried 22, 16 13 times in the first three weeks, does not appear in this game's play-by-play, and it does not say why.
Back in June the preview on Allen was mostly about what was missing, with Hall ahead of him. Weeks 1 to 3 were 10, five and four carries. Four games: 33 carries, a hundred 20 yards, one touchdown, six catches for 19.
